The client is a London listed gold miner with producing assets in Africa.
Due to business circumstances driven by gold price variations, the organisation’s short and medium term priorities changed and there were capability gaps identified, both at the executive level and at operations management level.
The client’s key objectives were two fold. One was to bring on board two senior managers, one for a senior general management role and the other for a senior technical operations role with specific focus on process improvement.
ENR Global was approached to advice on the best sourcing and attraction strategy to take these business critical opportunities to market. The brief was very specific and required senior managers who could hit the ground running and influence change. The roles were very critical to the continuity of the business and the candidates had to be recruited within 60 days.

Based on our understanding of the business circumstances of our client, ENR Global came up with a strategy that was simple and effective and one that could deliver results quickly. Two of our key consultants were involved fulltime to approach all our network contacts to generate leads across the sector.
Potential candidates were identified through social networks, personal contacts and targeted search across gold mining operations of similar size and complexity.
The long list was generated within a week and we started the engagement process for the next 10 days. Based on our interviews and assessments, we were able to shortlist 2 candidates for each role, within 20 days. It was an intense process that involved a lot of time and focused effort.
During the process, we remained fully engaged with the key stakeholders and also provided market feedback and advice on compensation and personal working styles that would help our client make a well informed hiring decision.
The client interviewed all the four candidates and hired the best two. Both candidates were able to come on board within the time frame that was initially set.
